Our Client:
It is the world's leading chemical company. Its portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products, agricultural products and fine chemicals to crude oil and natural gas. It is one of the biggest foreign investors in the China chemical industry
Position Responsibilities:
-Responsible for Regulatory Compliance as well as Regulatory Affairs oversight of BASF Plant Science's biotechnology products in China, as well as leading and coordinating the work of Regulatory Affairs Managers located in different countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region
-Serves as the leader of the Biotech Regulatory team in China as well as Regulatory regional lead for the Asia-Pacific
-Drives the regulatory process in China for BPS products, interacting with Government Regulators and other BPS functional units to gain regulatory approvals
-Coordinates the regulatory strategy in China and other Asia-Pacific countries in consultation with the Biotech Regulatory groups in the US and EU, including field trials as well as commercial Regulatory approvals in the Asia-Pacific countries
-Budget and goal setting for Regulatory Affairs in the Asia-Pacific countries in coordination with Biotech Regulatory groups in the US and EU
-Ensures that all BPS biotech activities in the Asia-Pacific countries are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations of each country
-Regular communication with Regulatory groups in the US, EU and Asia-Pacific region on regulatory developments in China as well as progress reports for BPS biotech products in China and the Asia-Pacific region
-Participation on Industry work groups, such as Crop Life for the Asia-Pacific region, to address cross-cutting regulatory developments in the region
Skill Requirements:
-Doctorate degree in molecular biology, plant biology, horticulture or agronomy
-More than 5 years of professional experience in Plant Biotechnology Regulatory Compliance / Regulatory Affairs
-Be knowledgeable and have working experience with the Chinese regulations and policies covering the use of biotechnology crop plants, and familiar with crop biotechnology regulations in other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
-Familiar with the Regulatory Science data requirements to support approvals for commercial production of biotechnology crops in China
-Strong intercultural orientation and interest in a multicultural environment
-Excellent English in writing and speaking
